What do we place our faith in? Our faith must be in the PROMISED SEED.

  1. God made an unchanging PROMISE to Abraham …  Genesis 22:18; God had discussed this “seed” earlier, Genesis 13:15; 15:5
    1. Abraham … understood the word “SEED” in the general sense – Abraham fathered SEVERAL children: Genesis 16-25
    2. God developed the nation of Israel in Egypt. Gen.37-Ex.4
    3. … spoken of BEFORE God promised Abraham.
      1. Genesis 3 … the FALL of Adam & Eve into sin…, the curse upon the serpent (vs. 15)
      2. … “her seed” = a MIRACLE,     Genesis 38:9
      3. … prophesy reveals the SEED to be a MAN.
    4. … 1000 years later through Ethan. Psalm 89:3-4
  2. God KEPT His Promise … sent the Seed.
    1. 16 & 22 … the Seed Is JESUS CHRIST.
    2. Matthew & Luke record the fulfillment of the prophecies…
